Outgoing Ugandan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Elizabeth Paula Napeyok paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at his office today.
During the talks, Foreign Minister Ali intimated the outgoing High Commissioner of Uganda about the opportunities of bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Uganda. He affirmed Bangladesh’s continuous effort to deepen ties with African countries including Uganda.
Ugandan High Commissioner lauded the progress made by Bangladesh in the ICT sector while recalling her participation in the ‘Digital World 2016’ held in Dhaka last year. Foreign Minister proposed that both Bangladesh and Uganda could collaborate to deepen cooperation in the ICT sector and hoped that a Ugandan delegation led by the ICT Minister could visit Bangladesh in this regard.
Besides these, Foreign Minister and the Ugandan High Commissioner also discussed other possible cooperation in the areas of defense training, agricultural research, garments and textile, ship building, pharmaceutical, bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
