JCI Bangladesh announced a call today at a press conference to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of the country’s youth. JCI Bangladesh has started shortlisting the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Bangladesh, and hopes for the country’s youth to be represented among the world’s top honorees.
Present in the Press Conference were Ahmed A Rahman, National President; Mir Sahed Ali, National Vice President & Chair Organizing Committee (TOYP); Shakawat Hossain Mamun, Immediate Past National President; Rebeka Sultana Binti, National Director and Co-Chair Organizing Committee (TOYP); Irfan Islam, National Secretary General and other high officials.
The Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Bangladesh (TOYP Bangladesh) Program recognizes young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the country’s young people. By recognizing these young people, JCI Bangladesh encourages them and others to seek excellence and serve others. It’s just one way that JCI Bangladesh contributes to preparing better leaders, who will create better societies.
Mir Sahed Ali, said at the press conference, “Nominations are now open for 2017 TOYP Bangladesh, recognizing the achievements of young people in categories ranging from business accomplishments and humanitarian efforts to outstanding leadership, medical and cultural achievements. We want our country to be well-represented at the inspirational international program that honors young people who excel in their field. We know our exceptional youth can act as role models for other young people around the world.”
“If you know outstanding young persons, we encourage you to nominate them for the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award” Sahed added.
JCI is a worldwide community of young active citizen’s ages 18-40 who are dedicated to creating the positive change they wish to see in themselves and the world. There are nearly 200,000 members active in 115 countries around the globe. This year JCI Bangladesh will be organizing the 4th TOYP in Bangladesh. National cricketer Sakib Al-Hasan, former BASIS President Shameem Ahsan, JAAGO founder Korvi Rakshand, Tahshan Rahman Khan, Nafisa Kamal are few among those who have already received this prestigious award.
