President Md. Abdul Hamid has given the following message on the occasion of the ICT Expo Day 2017:
“I am delighted to learn that ‘Bangladesh ICT Expo 2017’ is going to be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Dhaka under the joint auspices of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Division and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS).
Nowadays, Information and Communication Technology is considered as the flashing-base of economic development and poverty alleviation tool. It is the main driving force behind the Government’s visions of building a poverty and hunger free modern ‘Digital Bangladesh’. Establishing ‘Sonar Bangla’, dreamt by Father of our Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the government under the dynamic and able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken comprehensive steps and given especial focus on ICT and its uses. We have to be very deliberate in implementing our ICT strategy to take part in the digital revolutions.
I am pleased to learn that with the initiative of the ICT Division, establishment of
Hi-Tech Parks and Software Technology Parks at Divisional and District levels are ongoing. Development of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City, Kaliakoir is also continuing in full swing and construction of Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park, Jessore has already been completed. Besides, Janata Tower Software Technology Park is functioning efficiently. I hope, with all these activities, Bangladesh will be able to transform into a middle income country well before 2021.
I welcome the organisers for holding this important Expo and wish the ‘Bangladesh ICT Expo 2017’ a grand success.
