The Embassy of Bangladesh in Paris celebrated the Victory Day-2017 with great festivity and fervor on, 16 December at the Embassy premises.
The programme of the Day celebration started with the hoisting of the National flag by the Bangladesh Ambassador to France Mr. Kazi Imtiaz Hossain at the Chancery. Recitation from the Holy Books of different religions, observance of one minute silence showing respect to all the martyrs of the glorious liberation war followed. The messages on the occasion sent by President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh were read out before the audience.
The Victory day event was presided over by the local political leaders with the vibrant participation of the members of Bangladeshi community including officials of the Mission, businessmen, cultural, media & sports personalities, professionals, women activists living in France. A good number of Freedom Fighters took part in the program and they shared and remembered their experiences with the participants and young generation in particular.
In his speech, the Ambassador paid rich tribute and gratitude to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his leadership and sacrifices for the Bengali nation. He also paid tribute to the valiant freedom fighters, who made supreme sacrifice for the cause of the independence of Bangladesh in 1971.
