Khaleda Zia’s health report filed by Wednesday

The High Court has summoned the latest medical report on the condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. The VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was instructed to submit the report to the court through the Registrar General of the Supreme Court at 4pm on Wednesday.

A division bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and AKM Zahirul Haque issued the order on Sunday in response to the petition filed by Khaleda Zia’s lawyers.

The court ordered that the High Court dismissed Khaleda’s bail application in the Zia Charitable Trust case. An appeal was filed against the order in the Appellate Division. Hospital authorities gave a full report on the physical condition of Khaleda Zia under the direction of the Appellate Division. In view of the report, Khaleda Zia’s bail application was dismissed after observation and the Appellate Division said in her order that Khaleda Zia should be given that treatment if she agrees to seek advanced treatment.

The High Court, in its order, said that the bail applicant Khaleda Zia had agreed to seek advance treatment, whether the treatment had begun with the consent, if it had begun, and the VC had been instructed to give a final report on her physical condition, including if it had begun.

At the same time, the court fixed for hearing on Khaleda Zia’s bail application next Thursday.
