President M Abdul Hamid today said that he tried to do politics honestly for a long time and got a lot of support from journalists, referring to the good relation with them.
“I did politics with honesty throughout my life. I didn’t receive anything negative from journalists in my 64 years political career and I am grateful to all journalists,” he told journalists at Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban where he hosted a dinner in honour of them.
During his brief speech ahead of the dinner, the head of state reminisced about his illustrious political career where he did all things for the betterment of the haor region.
“In my political life, I didn’t want to get anything for my own; I tried to do everything for the people of haor areas. And even I didn’t want anything from any government for my personal interest,” he mentioned.
He also expressed hope that if every politician has such a mindset, their respective areas will definitely be developed.বিস্তারিত
