Eight persons, including three of a family, received burn injuries in a fire from a gas pipeline explosion in the capital’s Dhupkhola area while a repair work was underway in the morning today.
The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The injured are – Abdur Rahim, 50, his daughter Mim Akter, 21, and grandson Alif, 2, and Sohel, 48, Mehedi Hasan, 23, Ali Hossain, 30, Rashed Mia, Sahera Begum, 65 and Mizanur Rahman, 32.
DMCH Police Camp in-charge Md Bachchu Miah said the fire originated from gas pipeline leakage on Dhupkhola Bazar road around 9.30 am while repair work was underway.
