Three passenger buses and a police car were set on fire as a clash ensued between police and BNP leaders and activists during the party’s sit-in programme in the city’s Matuail area.
Besides, at least 20 police personnel were injured as BNP activists clashed with police during the party’s sit-in programme in the city entrance points. BNP called today’s sit-in programme without taking prior permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Among the injured policemen, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic-South) SM Mehdi Hasan and Sub Inspector (SI) Sutrapur Police Station Nahid are undergoing treatment with serious injuries.
