The Meteorological Department has forecast that the intensity of storms and rains may increase in some parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

A warning issued to inland river ports has warned that there is a risk of gusty winds with a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour in 12 regions of the country, including Dhaka, from Sunday (April 13) morning to 1 pm.

The bulletin signed by meteorologist Shahinul Islam said that temporary gusty winds of 60 to 80 kmph are likely to blow from the west or northwest over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Faridpur, Tangail, Mymensingh, Kushtia, Dhaka, Cumilla and Sylhet regions. There is also a possibility of rain or thundershowers in these regions.

Due to this risk, river ports in the aforementioned region have been asked to display naval warning signal number 2.

In addition, gusty or squally winds of 45 to 60 km per hour are possible in other parts of the country from the west or northwest. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers. Warning signal number 1 has been issued in these areas.
