Hectic preparations are afoot here to welcome Chief Adviser Prof. Dr Muhammad Yunus as he is set to make his first ever visit to his home district after assuming office as the head of the interim government.
People of Chattogram have been eagerly waiting to greet on May 14 their globally celebrated son who is the microcredit guru and a Nobel laureate.
Prof Yunus is scheduled to arrive here on a daylong visit of packed itinerary stretching from Chattogram port to the University of Chattogram, the oldest higher academic institution of the region, located beside his ancestral village home of Jobra under Fatehpur union of Hathazari upazia.
Apart from attending the 5th convocation of the university as the convocation speaker, Prof. Yunus is also expected to visit the village of Jobra where he first experimented his microcredit programme.
