The government has officially issued the Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, amending the Government Service Act, 2018.
The ordinance was promulgated this evening following the Interim Government’s Advisory Council meeting held last Thursday.
In the meeting, the draft of the amendment was reviewed and approved.
The ordinance outlines four offenses that constitute misconduct: inciting disobedience or disrupting discipline among employees; being absent or neglecting duties without leave or valid reason, whether individually or collectively; encouraging others to skip work or avoid responsibilities; and obstructing colleagues from performing their duties.
Under the ordinance, penalties may include demotion to a lower grade or pay scale, removal from service, or outright dismissal.
A show-cause notice must be served to the accused within seven days of the formal framing of charges. বিস্তারিত
