The crescent moon marking the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, confirming that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Thursday (June 6).
The Day of Arafat, which falls on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, will be observed on Wednesday (June 5).
The crescent was observed from Tumair observatory, according to Saudi authorities.
The moon has also been sighted in Oman and Indonesia, aligning the Islamic calendar dates across several countries.
As per reports from Inside The Haramain, an online platform focused on the two holy mosques, the month of Dhul-Hijjah will begin on Wednesday (May 28). Pilgrims will gather at Mount Arafat on June 5, a key ritual of the Hajj pilgrimage, followed by Eid celebrations the next day
