15 new COVID-19 cases detected in 24 hrs, no deaths reported

Bangladesh has reported 15 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The infections were detected from testing 134 samples, but no deaths were recorded during this period.

With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 2,051,785.

The information was shared in the regular COVID-19 press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (June 12).

Earlier, on June 11, 10 people were found positive for the virus out of 107 tested samples.

According to the press release, 18 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,019,398.

The first COVID-19 cases in the country were detected on March 8, 2020, when three individuals tested positive.

The first death due to the virus occurred ten days later, on March 18 of the same year.

The highest number of deaths in a single day; 264, was recorded on two separate days, August 5 and August 10 of 2021.
