25 children among dead in Milestone jet crash

The death toll from the Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crash in Uttara’s Milestone School and College has reached 27 so far—25 of them children under the age of 12.

Another 78 people injured in the accident are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals. Among them, five are in critical condition.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday morning (July 22) at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Professor Dr Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, provided these updates.

“We are continuing to provide medical care without interruption. However, the condition of some patients remains critical,” he said.

He added that many of the victims are children under 12, most of whom have sustained burns on large parts of their bodies. “We are doing our utmost to keep them alive,” he said.
