The identities of five severely burned victims from the tragic Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara have been confirmed through DNA testing, police officials confirmed on Thursday.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) collected DNA samples from 11 individuals who came forward claiming to be family members of the unidentified victims.

The five bodies, which were charred beyond recognition, had been preserved at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) following the incident.
Special Police Superintendent (Media) of CID, Jasim Uddin Khan, confirmed the identification on Thursday, stating that CID’s Forensic DNA Lab successfully matched the victims’ remains with their family members’ samples.
He said further details regarding the identities would be shared soon.
Earlier, CID’s Special Police Superintendent of Forensics, Shampa Yasmin, had noted that 11 DNA samples were collected from the human remains found at CMH.
Correspondingly, 11 relatives; some from the same families, voluntarily provided their blood samples at the CID office for comparison.
