Mahatab was referred to NIBPS from Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.
His cousin, Rakib Hossain, said Mahatab’s father, Minhazur Rahman Bhuiyan, lives at Debidwar area of Cumilla district.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 55 injured victims are still undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Dhaka. Among them, 45 are being treated at NIBPS, including nine in critical condition, 13 on complete bed rest, and 23 in intermediate condition.
The burn institute is providing treatment in coordination with a medical team from Singapore General Hospital, which arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday to assist with the emergency response.
Mahatab is 12th person to die at NIBPS since the crash.
The government earlier published the names of 29 deceased and 57 injured. 22 of the deceased have already been identified and their bodies handed over to families.
The bodies of seven victims remain unidentified. Six are being preserved at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) morgue and one at Lubana General Hospital and Cardiac Centre.
According to a statement from Press Information Department (PID), five of the unidentified bodies have now been matched to families through DNA testing conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Meanwhile, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate has urged the public not to believe rumours circulating on social media about the death toll.
“Many people are believing misinformation without knowing the actual situation,” said ISPR Director Lieutenant Colonel Sami Ud Dowla Chowdhury in a message to the media on Wednesday.
The jet crash, which occurred on Monday, sparked a devastating fire and left dozens dead or critically injured, mostly students and staff at Milestone School and College.
