A Gazipur court on Saturday granted two-day police remand for each of the seven suspects arrested in the killing of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin.
Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Alamgir Al Mamun issued the order after hearing the investigation officer’s request for a 10-day remand per suspect to facilitate further inquiries.
The accused were presented in court under tight security, confirmed Gazipur Metropolitan Court Police Inspector Ahsan Ullah.
Tuhin, 38, a Gazipur correspondent for Dainik Protidiner Kagoj, was hacked to death on August 7th near Chandna Chowrasta. The suspects were identified through CCTV footage; seven were arrested by police, and one by the Rapid Action Battalion.
Earlier the same day, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dr Nazmul Karim Khan updated the media on the investigation’s progress.
