The country reported three more deaths from dengue in the 24 hours ending Monday morning, as the country faces a rising number of infections.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the total dengue-related deaths this year have reached 215. The latest fatalities were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Khulna Division (outside the city corporation).
During the same period, 782 new patients were hospitalized with viral fever, bringing the total number of reported dengue cases this year to 50,689. Currently, 851 patients are receiving treatment in Dhaka, while 2,473 patients are undergoing care across various hospitals nationwide.
The DGHS report noted that 60.9 percent of new patients are men and 39.1 percent are women.
For comparison, dengue claimed 575 lives last year, with 101,214 cases reported and 100,040 recoveries recorded during the same period.
