The event began at 4:37 PM with the national anthem, attended by members of the Advisory Council and foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka. Chief Adviser Dr Yunus arrived around 4:30 p.m., accompanied by Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, and Vice Chairman of the Commission Ali Riaz.

Although scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM, the event was briefly delayed following a clash between police and a group identifying themselves as “July Fighters,” who had occupied the venue earlier in the day. The situation escalated into brick-throwing and arson, prompting police to use batons to disperse the group. A brief spell of rain further disrupted the scene but was quickly brought under control by security forces.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam posted on his verified Facebook account at 2:58 PM, saying the ceremony might begin slightly late due to adverse weather conditions but assured that “everything is proceeding as planned” and that “a historic new chapter in our national journey is about to begin.”

Advisers present at the ceremony included Education Adviser C R Abrar, Food Adviser Ali Imam Majumder, Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk-i-Azam, Energy Adviser Muhammad Faozul Kabir Khan, and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Faiz Ahmed Taiyyeb.
