A fire that broke on the top floor of a six-storey building in Dhaka’s Kalshi on Friday night, has been brought under control after two hours of efforts of the fire men.
Fire Service and Civil Defence said seven firefighting units managed to extinguish the blaze around 12:15AM.
Md Saleh Uddin, deputy director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, informed the media men that the reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
The building houses a garment factory and Bibaho Bari Community Centre, it was known.
“It appears that old furniture and papers were stored on the floor where the fire broke out. We will form an investigation committee to determine the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.”
