A Dhaka court has scheduled November 27 for delivering the judgment in three cases concerning alleged irregularities in RAJUK plot allocations, involving 47 individuals, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and daughter Saima Wazed Putul.
Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 set the date after both the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments in the cases on Saturday, according to ACC public prosecutor Mir Ahammed Salam.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 had initially framed charges in three of the six related cases and issued arrest warrants against the accused on July 31, 2025. On the same day, Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 framed charges in three more cases of a similar nature.
Earlier, on July 20, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib had transferred the cases to trial courts, citing repeated non-appearance of the accused despite multiple court orders. On July 1, the court had issued a gazette notification summoning 100 accused, including Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lodged the six cases between January 12 and 14, 2025, submitting charge-sheets in all cases on March 10.
According to court documents, the first case, filed by ACC Deputy Director Md Salahuddin on January 14, accused eight individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, over the allocation of a 10-katha plot in Purbachal. The charge-sheet later named 12 accused.
On the same day, ACC Assistant Director SM Rashedul Hasan filed a second case against 15 individuals, including Hasina and her son Joy, with the charge-sheet eventually listing 17 accused.
Another case, filed on January 13 by Salahuddin, involved 15 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib, Tulip Siddiq, and Azmina Siddiq; the charge-sheet named 17 accused. A separate case filed the same day accused 16 people, including Hasina, Tulip Siddiq, and Azmina Siddiq, with the charge-sheet listing 18 accused.
Additionally, a case filed against Radwan Mujib and 15 others resulted in a charge-sheet naming 18 accused. On January 12, ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya filed another case against 16 individuals, including Hasina and Saima Wazed Putul; the corresponding charge-sheet listed 18 accused.
The upcoming judgment on November 27 will address allegations of irregularities in RAJUK plot allocations and determine the legal responsibility of the accused.
