HSC, equivalent exams begin Thursday

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin simultaneously across the country on Thursday (December 2).

A total of 13,99,664 examinees will sit for the exams under 11 educational boards this year. Of them, 7,29,738 are boys and 6,69,952 are girls.

The examinations will be taken on brief syllabuses amid Covid-19 pandemic.

The examinations will be held at 2,621 centres of the country following health guidelines. Besides, 406 examinees will sit for the examinations at eight centres abroad.

Education Ministry sources said a total of 11,38,017 examinees from nine general boards while 1,13,144 examinees from Madrasa Board and 1,48,529 examinees from HSC (BM) Vocational under Technical Education Board are taking part in this year’s examinations.

Earlier, all coaching centers were declared closed from November 25 to January 3 for conducting examinations in a fair environment.

Examinees will have to enter their respective centres minimum 30 minutes before beginning of the examinations. If anyone makes delay to enter the centres, his or her name, roll number, time of entry and reasons for the delay will have to be written down in the register.

The set code of the question papers will be informed through SMS 25 minutes before the start of examination. The centre secretary will be able to use a mobile phone set inside the centre which can’t take photos, while none will be able to use phones during the examinations.
