394 dengue, 21 Covid cases reported in 24 hours

A total of 394 new dengue cases were reported across the country from Monday morning to Tuesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This brings the total number of dengue cases this year to 8,544. No new dengue-related deaths were reported during this period.

At the moment, 1,080 dengue patients are being treated in hospitals across the country.

Meanwhile, 21 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours. The DGHS said 441 samples were tested, and 21 people tested positive. No new deaths were recorded.

So far this year, 6,445 samples have been tested, and 473 people were found to have the virus. A total of 19 people have died of COVID-19 this year.

Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, more than 1.573 million samples have been tested in Bangladesh, and 29,518 people have died from the virus.

The positivity rate over the past 24 hours is 4.76 per cent.
