The government is preparing an international year calendar chalking different programmes to organize across the globe for celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman next year, declared as ‘Mujib Year’.
The international programme and communication sub-committee of the birth centenary celebration is working on formulating the international calendar that will start from the date of Bangabandhu’s 100 birth anniversary on March 17, 2020 and to be ended on March 2021.
This was revealed today while Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen presided over the third meeting of the sub-committee at International Mother Language Institute in the capital, a press release said.
The committee is also working on inviting heads of states and governments of different countries, global political leaders and international renowned figures to attend the celebration programme.
Besides, the committee is also planning to showcase ideal and struggle of Bangabandhu for establishing peoples right through arranging paintings, photography and short films exhibitions in different major cities of the world.
Expatriate welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmed Chowdhury, former foreign minister and Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on finance ministry Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs ministry M Faruk Khan and Convener of Birth Centenary Celebration Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury were present, among others.
