The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday morning, with 58.83 per cent of average pass, a significant drop.
Last year, the pass rate was 77.78 per cent which decreased by 18.95 per cent this year.
Meanwhile, the highest grade of GPA-5 dropped below half. A total of 69,097 students secured GPA-5 this year.
The results were released simultaneously on the respective websites of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh as well as the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.Photography prints
Professor Dr Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, formally announced the results at 10AM.
Individual results will be available at the joint website of the education boards and the respective board websites.
This year, more than 1.25 million students appeared in the examinations —among them, 618,015 male and 633,096 female students – at 2,797 centres across the country.
